Financial situation of Mars Pensioenfonds

In our previous newsletter, we informed you that your pension will be increased by 1.98% as of 1 January 2020. We are able to grant this increase because our policy funding ratio was high enough at the end of 2019. Since 31 December, our policy funding ratio decreased. Read more about the effect of this decrease on the website.

New pensioen administrator for Mars

Our current pension administrator, TKP Pensioen, has decided to no longer offer their services for Mars Pensioenfonds from the 1st of January 2022. This is a strategical decision for TKP, our current pension administrator. In the future, TKP will mainly focus on larger pension funds. Therefore Mars Pensioenfonds, and several other funds that make use of the services of TKP, will search for another pension administrator.

The Board of Mars Pensioenfonds is looking for a new pension administrator in collaboration with the pension office and several experts. This is a long and extensive process. Currently it is still too early to predict what the impact of this transition will be. The goal is to have a seamless transition to a new pension administrator.

Online pension planner workshop: again in 2020

In October of 2019, we organised a number of workshops to help you with the online pension planner. The workshops were very well attended and we received a lot of positive feedback. That's why we will continue these workshops in 2020.

The first workshops were planned on the 18th of March. However, due to the coronavirus, we decided to cancel these workshops. At this time, we can't say when the next workshops will be. We will inform you on our website if we have more information. Check our website regularly if you want to participate in the workshops!

Administration costs ARP/ASP

Mars Pensioenfonds will periodically charge administration costs to members in the Associate Selection Plan (ASP). This will happen retroactively per January 2020. This is due to the fact that the standard fees of the Vanguard funds will be reduced and at the same time, most of the rebates will no longer be applicable. Vanguard invests the pension capital of the Associates Selection Plan.
