Financial situation

Mars Pension fund has a rising policy funding ratio in recent months. One reason is the rising interest rate. As a result, the technical provisions (commitments) are decreasing. Despite a slightly negative investment result, Mars Pension fund is also seeing a rising policy funding ratio. The policy funding ratio was 125,2% in September, which is a rise compared with August (123,4%).

People behind the fund: the board

At Mars Pension fund we think it is important that you have a good pension. All the people at Mars Pension fund feel this responsibility for your pension every day. But who are these people? And what exactly do they do?

In every newsletter we have a ‘People behind the fund' section, where we put the spotlight on a different group that is committed to your pension. What do they do? In which body? And why?

This time: William van Ettinger, on behalf of the board.

Life Cycles: before and after the age of 58

You are a member of the Mars Pension fund ARP/ASP plan. This means that you will opt for a fixed or a variable pension on your retirement date. Did you know that you can make a preliminary choice for the capital in the ASP plan as of age 55? It allows your investments to be aimed at either a fixed or a variable pension.

  • If your (preliminary) choice is a variable pension, your investments should perhaps involve more risk. The Life Cycle Variable is the most appropriate investment choice if you are aiming for a variable pension.
  • If your (preliminary) choice is a fixed pension, you may want to reduce the risk involved in your investments. The Life Cycle Fixed is the most appropriate investment choice if you are aiming for a fixed pension.
