Financial situation

Fortunately, many pension funds have seen their policy funding ratio rise again in recent months. One reason is the rising interest rate. As a result, the technical provisions (commitments) are decreasing. Despite a slightly negative investment result, Mars Pensioenfonds is also seeing a rising policy funding ratio. The policy funding ratio was 116.8% in April 2021, which is a rise compared with March 2021.

Voluntary contribution to ASP plan

Are you actively accruing pension with us? Then you will also pay extra contribution on top of the compulsory contribution. This extra contribution is voluntary and is maximised depending on your age. But where can you see how much you are currently contributing? It’s simple: in your Uniform Pension Overview (UPO), under the heading ‘your pension details’. You can find your UPO on our website, in My Mail. You will need to log in using your DigiD.

Do I need to do something if I am getting a divorce?

If you separate, there is a lot to think about. Your pension is probably not the first thing on your mind. Still, there are some things you do need to tell us about. People behind the fund: the Talent Pool

At Mars Pensioenfonds, we have a big responsibility. After all, we manage the pensions of almost 4,500 current and former members. That’s a huge amount of money and it is the reason why working for the pension fund requires specific skills and expertise. For such important work, we need great people. But pensions are still a complex matter. For that reason, we have the Mars Pensioenfonds Talent Pool. In the Talent Pool, we make sure you’re not jumping in at the deep end. There are training courses, seminars and walk-in sessions to help you get acquainted with the subject of pensions and all it entails. You can also attend meetings of the pension board and the accountability council. The Pension Bureau organises special information sessions as well. All of this helps those interested in working for Mars Pensioenfonds discover whether the world of pensions is for them. They can also find out whether a position on the pension board, the accountability council or one of the committees would suit them, before committing to a position straight away. If you are interested in pensions, the Talent Pool is a good way to move into a real position at Mars Pensioenfonds. Curious about stories of former Talent Pool participants and what they ended up doing?

Holiday allowance: difference between Mars Pensioenfonds and the state retirement pension

Have you retired and are you receiving a pension from us? Then this might be good to know: you will not receive your holiday allowance in one go. Part of your holiday allowance is included in your monthly pension payment. Most employed people receive their holiday allowance as a lump sum with their salary. They usually receive this allowance in May. If your state retirement pension is paid by the Social Insurance Bank (SVB), you will also receive your holiday allowance in May.
